For Akia was formed in 2013. The band members share their love for 1960s psychedelic dance rock, and their music is inspired by The Beatles and Tame Impala. The lyrics reflect an inscrutable depth via themes such as identity crises and outsiders. Themes that draw on lead singer Hans Mortensen’s own experience of feeling torn between growing up in Greenland and his life in Denmark.
