ABOUT
SPOT Music
The SPOT Festival is supported by a huge slice of the Danish music world of rock, pop and related genres – all joining hands to back the festival.
The SPOT Festival has got four general objectives:
– To focus primarily on new Danish and Nordic music
– To bridge the gap between the artistic ambitions and the commercial potential of the music
– To support and develop the popular and artistic qualities of the music
– To contribute to the development of international networks through the exchange of concerts and cultural and commercial experience
The ambition of SPOT Festival is to create a promotional platform for Danish and Nordic music. The profile, line-up and scheduling are primarily dictated by the ambition to back new bands and artists who have the artistic level to do well internationally. The presentations include acts who make their debut at SPOT as well as more established acts who are deemed potentially interesting for either Danish or international labels, publishers, music business people as well as other parts of the cultural industry and media.
SPOT Film
In 2013, SPOT Festival decided to expand and began to include a Film & Interactive element to the festival. The core of the festival remains the same: to create a platform for up-and-coming Nordic talents on the verge of a national and international breakthrough.
SPOT Film aspires to showcase and promote emerging Nordic film talents across all genres, as well as offer seminars, workshops and networking events that all aim to aid young filmmakers on their path to success.
SPOT Film is open for film submissions to the festival’s four film programs:
SPOT The Film, which is the festival’s fiction competition program and offers fiction films from the best new Nordic talents.
SPOT The Documentary, which is the festival’s second competition program and showcases documentaries from the best new Nordic talents.
SPOT The Music, which is a music-film program with a particular focus in the combination between music and film, in everything from music documentaries concerning big international artists to films about underground scenes.
SPOT The Video, which shows the best national and international music videos.
The submission is open for filmmakers until the 23rd of February.
Please read the terms of agreement for the application and submission guidance before submission.

CROWD INFO
Policy on alcohol and hard drugs
SPOT Festival does not sell alcohol for persons under 18 years of age. There is no exception to this rule, and it applies to all groups: audience, musicians, and volunteers. If you end up having consumed more than you can handle, look up the festival first-aiders to get help.
We do not tolerate the consumption of hard drugs just like we do not accept any drug dealing in the festival area. People who are caught doing or dealing drugs will be escorted away from the festival area, and we will confiscate their festival wristbands.
Accidents and lost property
During the entire festival the Civil Home Guard’s personnel will be available to offer first-aid assistance to festival guests, musicians, etc. If you happen to be injured or see someone in need of help, please ask for assistance in the nearest bar, or ask one of the many volunteers, or ask the staff at one of the festival stages. They will help you get in touch with the Civil Home Guard’s personnel.
If you have lost a garment, your cellphone, wallet, etc., please go to the festival accreditation in Scandinavian Congress Center. Lost property will be kept here during the festival. After the festival the remaining lost property will be temporarily stored at the festival secretariat office. After a couple of weeks, however, all lost property of value will be handed over to the police and the rest will be tossed out.
Crowd surfing
Stagediving, crowd surfing, moshing and similar activities are things that many people do not feel like being part of. It is dangerous and people do get hurt. Therefore such activities are strictly forbidden at all stages. If the guards see festival guests perform these activities, they will cut these guests’ festival wristbands and show them out of the festival area.
Cellphone recharging
You can recharge your cellphone in the accreditation area in Scandinavian Congress Center. We cannot guarantee, however, that we have a charger that fits your phone so remember to bring your own charger!
Means of payment
The festival accepts credit cards such as VISA, MasterCard and similar in almost all of the bars. Obviously cash is fine, too.
Check-in (paying guests)
You must produce your ticket in the paying-guest check-in zone to get a festival wristband. More information will follow.
Children
Children are obviously very welcome at the SPOT Festival – but only when accompanied by at least one grown-up. On the other hand, they get in for free as long as they are under twelve years of age.
Take good care of the youngest members of the festival audience. Thousands of people, loud music and general festival conduct can be quite overwhelming for a young child. If you see children who have been separated from their parents, take them by the hand and escort them to the festival info area in Scandinavian Congress Center (the festival accreditation). Then we shall look after them while we find their parents.
To parents who plan to bring their children along for the festival: Great, but please remember to write your phone numbers on your children’s arms. If you and your children are separated from each other, the phone numbers will make it a lot easier to reunite you. In the festival area we have plenty of markers that we will gladly lend you for that purpose.
Capacity and venues at SPOT
The SPOT Festival venues all have limited capacities. We therefore advise you to be there in good time before the start of the concert if you want to be absolutely sure to get in. The majority of our venues are indoor venues, many of of the venues are furnished with seats and practically all the venues are disabled-friendly.
Please note that the festival is a guest at the various venues and culture house and that there may be specific rules concerning smoking and drinks at the individual venues. Pay attention to information at the venue concerning such rules (and follow them!).
Become a volunteer
Without the many volunteers SPOT Festival would not exist. Every year hundreds of skilled, enthusiastic and hardworking helpers play a crucial role in making the festival run smoothly and professionally.
It goes without saying that the volunteers are not in it for the money – they just get the ticket and drinks and food. On the other hand it is in itself rewarding to be part of a collective of enthusiastic and indispensable volunteers who really make things take off and who play an active role in putting a spotlight on Danish and Nordic upcoming music not just in Denmark but also abroad.
Would you like to be a volunteer at SPOT Festival, then apply here.
