With her very characteristic voice, Kaaliyah draws inspiration from the late 90’s American R&B sound of the late 90s, and combines it with modern trap elements. Behind the project is Louis Winding, who has previously worked with Brandy, Outlandish, L.O.C., and Burhan G. In early March, Kaaliyah released the single ‘Rust & Bone’ from her upcoming 2015 debut EP, ‘Darkpop – First Sequence’.
