Spot Festival

More than 1000 film submissions

SPOT Festival’s open call to nordic filmmakers closed with more than 1000 submissions to the 2nd edition of SPOT Film.

SPOT Film aims at promoting new, Nordic film talents and trends. Since the festival opened for submissions January 19th, films have flooded in from filmmakers eager to participate in this year’s festival.

SPOT Film curator, Frederik Sølberg, is extremely pleased with the immense interest the festival has received:

“We are very grateful that so many filmmakers have shown us so much interest. It’s a step in the right direction towards becoming an important Nordic festival for young and talented filmmakers.”

Ahead lies a difficult task in viewing and selecting the best of the submitted films for the festival’s screening programmes which includes two competition programmes – one for fiction and one for documentaries – and two programmes outside competition presenting music documentaries and music videos. Besides the best films from the open call the programmes will consist of films handpicked by the curators.

The entire programme will be announced early April and screened on SPOT Festival Sunday 3rd May 2015 followed by an award ceremony where the winners of the two competition programmes will be announced.
